Vegetarian or Vegan Transition

Livin’ on the veg

Making the transition to a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle can get complicated. If you want to make the change for personal health, environmental health, or any other reason, it is best to be informed.

“Vegetarian” and “vegan” are no longer the strange concepts they once were. With the recent popularity of several revealing food industry documentaries — such as Forks Over Knives and Food Inc. — plant-based diets are getting a lot of extra attention.

This is great — but it’s also not as simple as just cutting out meat. A diet of bread, GMO foods, and processed soy junk foods is not going to support you!

That’s where this package really shines: by helping you make the transition properly. My goal is to help you make the best choices possible — based on up-to-date science.

Why go green?

A wise puppet once said, “It’s not easy being green.” So why bother?

  • Vegetarians generally have lower blood pressure than non-vegetarians
  • A diet based on vegetables, legumes, fruits, and whole grains is also low in fat and sugar
  • A vegetarian diet can help blood sugar levels and reduce the need for certain medications
  • Vegetarians have a lower death rate from cancers — from half to three quarters that of the general population (source: Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine)
  • Remember, change is about progress, not perfection. This is a great package if you are looking to make a savvy switch and find your veg edge!
