This workshop will show you how to give your immune system a boost – and how to keep it there.

Your immune system plays a critical role in eliminating harmful organisms and substances. It works by recognizing, destroying, and finally removing various types of foreign particles and malignant growths (like cancers) wherever it detects them.

A well-functioning immune system is very important to your overall wellbeing — but how can you tell if your immune system is functioning properly?

  • Are you suffering from chronic infection?
  • Do you catch colds or the flu easily?
  • Are you recovering from a surgery or major illness?
  • Do you get frequent cold sores or fungal infections?
  • Are your lymph glands sore or swollen at times?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, you may be exhibiting signs and/or symptoms of a weakened immune system.

Long-term problems of a weak immune system include resistance to antibiotics, malnutrition, susceptibility to infection, depression, infertility, anemia, and osteoporosis.

What are the causes?

A number of factors negatively affect immune system health, including:

  • Poor dietary habits and inadequate nutritional intake are key contributors to a weak immune system
  • Chronic stress can promote a hyper-reactive immune system and even aggravate other conditions, such as allergies, asthma, and autoimmune disease
  • Sleep deprivation activates the stress response, depresses immune function, and elevates inflammatory chemicals (which cause you to feel ill, even raising the risk of the common cold)
  • Surgery and chronic disease may require pharmaceuticals, which if used over a lengthy period of time can have a very negative effect on immune function (while they destroy harmful bacteria, they destroy good bacterial also)
  • Living with lots of other people (such as students in dormitories)
  • Food and water when traveling to many foreign countries

What can you do about it?

Learn how to strengthen your immune system by “restoring and rebalancing” with diet!

This class provides immune system education. You’ll learn which foods to increase (and which foods to avoid). We will discuss supplements and herbs that support immune health. Finally, you will also receive a three-day immune boosting meal plan with recipes!

How it works...

You're responsible for providing and arranging a venue and participants. I will lead the class, focusing on using whole foods to support a specific health topic.

Individuals can book classes for a private group (for example for a birthday party or a stagette), and companies can book classes for their employees.

Please note: these classes are informational programs, not cooking classes. However, I do offer cooking classes for groups who have a venue with a kitchen. For details on group cooking classes, please get in touch.

How much does it cost?

Classes are very affordable but the cost varies, as each group is unique and requests different structures and timeframes. Please get in touch with me for a quote based on your group’s needs!
